Sunday Services

July & August, 2010

All newcomers, family and friends, are invited to join us for the following activities. If you would like, please plan to stay for coffee and conversation immediately following the service.

Summer Services – July & August, 2010

We are taking the summer off in Hamburg and wish everyone a pleasant time in town or away.  For those who wish to attend a service, we encourage you to visit one of our other local churches.  Or you can commune with nature, care for our church gardens, or spend time beautifying our facilities, indoors or out, whatever fulfills your spiritual being.  We hope to see you all back in September for our welcome back service, which is our annual Water Communion service.  Don’t forget to collect some water from your summer sojourns to contribute to the ceremony on the 12th of September.

July 25th – 10:00 a.m. – at Faun Lake Chapel in the Pines – DONNA EVANS-DEYERMOND – will conduct a service in the outdoor chapel.  She and Cal will sponsor an afternoon picnic at their RV campsite – #233 after the service.  Cal will grill hot dogs and hamburgers.  Please bring a dish to pass and a beverage.  It is a 53 minute drive to Faun Lake.  The address is 5124 Pleasant Valley Road, Bliss, NY 14024 www.faunlake.com.  585-322-7300

Faun Lake has hiking trails and a swimming pool.  You can fish, kayak, and canoe in the lake.  There is also a playground, bocce ball court, and horseshoe pitch.

Note:  Please let Donna and Cal know if you plan to attend – diewrite@hotmail.com (838-3747)

Other Sunday Services during the summer – If you are looking for another Sunday morning service during the summer – check out the Buffalo, Amherst, East Aurora, or Niagara Falls Church.  In fact:

The growth committee is looking for some people to visit the Niagara Falls Church during the summer to do a “first impressions” report on them.  We have a list of questions for you to answer regarding your visit.  (There are copies in the Alliance Room – or call Ellea, Edallia, or Marieanna.)  This is part of the work being done in the Small Congregations Growth Workshops.    In turn, we will be visited by members from another church – probably in September – and will receive a similar report – to help us improve the first impression we make on newcomers.)
